Fundraisers

Below are the fundraisers planned for 2009/2010

PICK N SAVE – ALL YEAR LONG!
Benefit your student by feeding them! What a concept!! Sign up for Pick N Save’s “We Care” program and request the proceeds to go to Waukesha South Band Boosters – Number 919825. Every quarter a check is generated from a percentage of Roundy’s sales. Each year the Band earns around $900. New parents – this is the easiest way to earn money for the band – Seasoned parents -take a few moments to verify that the band account is properly designated.

GREAT LAKES SCRIP – ALL YEAR LONG!  (Updated Nov'09)
This is another fantastic opportunity to raise money without spending extra. Gift cards are purchased for places you would normally do business. Choose from gas stations, retail stores and restaurants. A handout was sent home with your students earlier in the week at band camp. A percentage of your sale is sent back to the band organization and to your student’s passbook account. The web site is:
http://www.glscrip.com and more information is here.

MARKET DAY – ALL YEAR LONG!
Earn money for your student's passbook account by purchasing food items you already buy at the grocery store for your family. If you have been looking for a place to get your Market Day favorites, or if you would like to try Market Day, here is your chance. Go to
www.marketday.com, and register by creating a username and password, using the Whittier school account number: 12705 (South shares the Market Day task with Whittier). If you are already a customer, be sure that account 12705 is selected. If you want to fill out a paper order form (available on the wall of knowledge) you will need to return the paper order form to Terri Como, 331 S. Greenfield Avenue. All profits for your order will go to your student's passbook account. Check back often on the front page of this website for order placement and pickup date/times.

POINSETTIA SALE - November
Poinsettia sale runs Nov 3rd through Nov 12th.  Students will receive Information and Order Form Nov 3.  Orders and money are due Nov 12th.  Poinsettias will be used as decorations on the stage for the Dec 9th concert; after the concert, parents can take their poinsettias home.

CITRUS FRUIT SALE - Late October
Cases of tree ripened oranges and grapefruits are shipped directly from Florida groves just in time for the Holidays. Students sell and turn in their orders in late October. One Saturday in early December, the fruit will arrive at school where the students will pick up and deliver. Proceeds from this sale have yet to be determined. Support the band and give a great gift!

BUTTER BRAID FROZEN PASTRY DOUGH – Late Winter (TBD) A holiday opportunity for the students and their families. Butter Braid markets frozen braided pastries and pastry rolls. These delicious products keep up to six months in the freezer and will make a nice addition to your holiday table! Students earn $4 for each product sold.

MR. Z’S PIZZA & GIFT SALE - Spring? (TBD) Band and Choir, and Orchestra students will all participate in this fundraiser. Pizza, soups, and desserts are a few of the items featured in the Food Court section. There is also the simple pleasures section - nuts, fudge, candy, cheese and sausage. Select magazines can you’re your student ½ the cost! Brochures and order forms will be sent home with the students. Many of these items make wonderful gifts for birthdays, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. Proceeds to be determined.

BUYCOSTUMES.COM October 10 & 11 and October 17 & 18, 7:30am – 4pm each day
Students and their parents have the opportunity to help the world’s largest online retailer of costumes earn money by picking and packing in the warehouse. The warehouse is a new, state-of-the-art facility located in New Berlin. Each worker earns $6.50 per hour. All proceeds go to the student’s passbook. Students and their parents may work one day, some days, or all four days, but they must work the entire day, not partial days.  Contact Suzanne Boulton at
sboulton@wi.rr.com or by calling 262.650.0985 to sign up.

MARCHFEST - September 26, 2009 @ 6:00pm
Waukesha South hosts the 20th Anniversary of Marchfest, a marching band competition.  This event serves as practice in preparation for the marching season. This event is a major fundraiser to benefit our marching band. We strongly encourage each marching parent to volunteer and attend this event. Invite your neighbors and relatives as the performances make for an enjoyable evening under the stars. We will be selling Advertisements (Happy Ads) for the program. Happy Ads are a great way to show support for your child. Happy Ad information is located
here.

CHILI FEED – October 9th 2009
This annual event is run by band parents on homecoming weekend. Band parents are asked to donate a 5 qt. bucket of chili (
recipe) and a food item. Tickets are sold in advance and at the door. Price is approximately $6 for a dinner consisting of a bowl of chili, hot dog / potato, salad, dessert. We again welcome and encourage volunteers, friends, neighbors, and relatives to ensure this events success.

MILLER PARK CONCESSIONS – Completed for 2009
Parents attend a two hour training session in spring. Select the dates you are willing to work. For an approximate shift of 7 hours, each worker is paid a minimum of $50. One recent year, parents earned $14,800 not including $1,000 in tip money. This fundraiser requires a dedicated, dependable group of volunteers to keep it going, but it can also raise some major league funds. Get a buddy and have some fun at Miller Park.

If you have any fundraising questions, contact Suzanne Boulton at boulton@wi.rr.com or call 262.650.0985.
